RENEE ZELLWEGGER put extra effort into making her new movie LEATHERHEADS because she didn’t want to disappoint the director – her friend George Clooney .

The actress has a lot of admiration for Clooney – who also co-stars in the film – and was desperate not to let him down as he has been such a good pal to her over the years. She says, “I didn’t want to disappoint him. I didn’t want to be the person who sucks in this film. George is my confidant. He tells me what he thinks and I want to know because I have so much respect for him.”

Actress Renee Zellweger received a surprise visit from the fire brigade on Thursday morning (20Sep07) – because a neighbour was c
oncerned about the smoke coming from her hearth.The Bridget Jones’s Diary star was enjoying the heat from her fireplace at her New York home when a team of firefighters turned up on her doorstep.

A source tells the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, “They came and put out the contained fire in her fireplace. It seemed very unnecessary, but maybe because it is so early in the season, the neighbour was concerned.”

Renee Zellweger has admitted to having a crush on a certain someone, after they had been snapped out on a night on the tiles together. Renee mentioned his name in an interview with Now magazine.
She said, “Paul McCartney? I have a crush on him.”
“I haven’t told him yet, but I think some friends of mine might have. Well, I guess if he doesn’t know, he’ll find out now.”
But it seems she can do all the crushing she likes, it won’t ever amount to anything more.
Macca has made that crystal clear.
He said, “We’re not dating. We’re in the same group of friends and that’s it.”
