Socialite NICOLE RICHIE has denied a report she plans to marry her boyfriend JOEL MADDEN this summer (08), insisting the rocker hasn’t even proposed.
Richie and Madden, who have baby daughter Harlow Winter Kate together, were said to be sending out invites for their impending nuptials as early as next week (begs07Apr08).
But a spokesperson for The Simple Life star says, “They are not even engaged.”

Nicole Richie was released from jail Thursday after serving 82 minutes of a four-day sentence for driving under the influence of drugs.The reality show star, who checked into a women’s jail at 3:15 p.m., was released at 4:37 p.m. “based on her sentence and federal guidelines,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Maribel Rizo said without elaborating.

Under a federal court mandate to manage jail overcrowding, arrestees sentenced to 30 days or less for a nonviolent offense are usually released within 12 hours, the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Under the guidelines, Richie was “treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence,” the statement said.

Richie, 25, was originally sentenced to 96 hours in jail, but that was reduced to 90 hours because of time served when she was arrested.

Richie arrived at jail with her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and her boyfriend, Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden. Her time at the Century Regional Detention Facility was spent getting booked, including taking a mugshot and submitting her fingerprints, Holley said.

She didn’t reach her jail cell.

“She was really treated like any other inmate,” Holley said. “I think every inmate in her position, with that type of charge, would have been treated as she was.”

The 26-year-old developed a dependency on the class A drug heroin early in her wild-partying socialite career and believes it was the pressure of her new-found fame which pushed her towards a full-blown addiction.

“I got so much, so fast that nothing really excited me anymore. I kind of took matters into my own hands and was creating drama in a very dangerous way,” she said.
“I think I was just bored and I had seen everything — especially when you’re young, you just want more.”

But the daughter of 80s pop balladeer Lionel Richie now insists she has put those days of non-stop partying and regular drug-taking behind her, which is especially lucky now she is four months pregnant with Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden’s child.

However, which jail Nicole, who is four months pregnant with boyfriend Joel Madden’s child, will actually go to is still undecided. The spokesman added, “That’s all determined by our medical staff upon her arrival.”

If she doesn’t get medical facility placement, there’s a good chance that Nicole will be housed in a segregated unit, much the same as friend Paris was.
