Actress Jenny McCarthy, who split from boyfriend actor Jim Carrey earlier this month, said they broke up because their relationship stopped being fun.

“You know, the simple word I can give – and there’s a few, so let me say a few. The first thing is, when it’s not fun anymore, you need to start investigating and do an inquiry into the relationship,” people.com quoted her as telling TV host Oprah Winfrey on her show The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The actress and former Playboy model also addressed her image while she was dating Carrey and what it meant to be a partner of a Hollywood A-lister.

“My identification wasn’t caught up in being a celebrity’s girlfriend. I did check on that, by the way. I checked into myself. How does my ego feel? My ego’s fine. I’m a warrior mom. I always got back on my feet, and I know especially this year who I am,” she added.

Jenny McCarthy lovers rejoice: the gorgeous blonde haired actress is single again! After five years of a committed relationship with Jim Carey and career obscurity, McCarthy announced today on her Twitter:

I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to [Jim's daughter] Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart

In the meantime, Carey posted on his Twitter:

Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best! S’okay!

They both seem to be taking it very lightly, but it’s hard to believe they’re not affected by the breakup, taking into account their relationship was so intense in its early years.  In any case, there has been not a peep out of them about the reason for their split, and it’s rumored that infidelity is not the cause.

Just because Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey aren’t getting married doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t go on a honeymoon! The couple have publicly declared that they’re in no rush to walk down the aisle, but they did celebrate their love with a Hawaiian vacation that Jenny confided to a pal was her “honeymoon without the wedding.” The happy couple flew to Maui, Hawaii for a week of fun in the sun, at a cost of $250,000! According to an insider, Jenny and Jim flew on his private plane and stayed in a private beachfront villa that was fully staffed with a chef, a driver, a concierge and even a full-time masseur. “It was the honeymoon of a lifetime,” the insider says.
