Hollywood star Drew Barrymore has said that she has good organisational skills as a director but her real life is a disaster.

The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star, who directed the 2009 film ‘Whip It’, admitted she is disciplined on the sets but has messy habits, reported Contactmusic.

“My real life is a disaster. You should see my hotel room right now. It looks like Sid Vicious is living there. It’s absolutely nuts. I need to call somebody to help because
it’s started to look weird. I’m just a mess. My desk is a mess, I’m never organised, I lose everything,” said Barrymore.

The 35-year-old actress is currently in search of another script to tackle next.

“As a director, I’m really trying hard to find something I fall in love with again because it’s a really long, intense job that you work on every day for the next
three years,” she said.

Her most recent film as an actress is ‘Going The Distance’ which also features Barrymore’s on-off boyfriend Justin Long.

It follows the story of a couple in a long distance relationship, focusing on their travels between Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Actress Drew Barrymore is trying to be less stubborn in relationships and says she is open to changing her approach towards love.

“Love? I’m not an affectionado on the subject right now. Some of the things I thought were a certain way have revealed themselves to be quite different, so I feel very awake and open-hearted and open-minded,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.

“I’d like to approach certain things differently. I feel like I’m learning a lot right now. I’m not the teacher, I’m the student… I want to try new things,” she added.

The 35-year-old thinks she needs to address her stubborn streak as it often leads to her staying in bad situations for too long.

“I would like to be less stubborn. I can be stubborn over lots of things, but I can also be completely invested and romantic… I will stay in something until it really doesn’t work,” she said.

Actress Drew Barrymore has no regrets about her troublesome past – because her experience with drugs and alcohol has made her more appreciative of life.

The Charlie’s Angels star, 32, rose to Hollywood prominence in 1980 at the tender age of five, but her life soon spiralled out of control and by the time she turned 14, Barrymore had already been in rehab twice for cocaine and alcohol abuse.

But she admits her wildchild ways have made her more cautious of her current Hollywood lifestyle. She says, “(My problems) led me to where I am. I don’t take things for granted.”
