Hollywood tough guy Bruce Willis was turned away from a trendy New York nightclub last week - because doormen didn’t recognise him.

The Die Hard star showed up at top nightspot Socialista at around 3am on Wednesday (19Sep07) with an entourage of eight, hoping to be let in as a VIP. But a source tells U.S. gossip column PageSix.com that not only was he denied entry - bouncers let in others who arrived after him.

The source adds, “Bruce’s entourage started banging on the door, to no avail. I guess they had reached their massive-ego quota.”

BRUCE WILLIS turned the air blue at a live basketball game on Sunday (29Apr07) when he called a TV host a “mother f**ker”. The Die Hard star was interviewed courtside during the New Jersey Nets’ NBA Finals play-off game with the Toronto Raptors and forgot he was live on air.

Asked about his upcoming Die Hard sequel, he beamed, “It’s unbelievable… It’s better than the first movie,” and signed off, “Yippee Kay Aye, mother f**ker.”
