JODIE FOSTER channelled her inner rock star during an appearance on U.S. TV show RACHAEL RAY on Friday (04Apr08) - the Oscar winner showed off her skills playing video game Guitar Hero.

The actress, famed for starring in hard-hitting dramas such as last year’s (07) The Brave One, aired her lighter side playing the Wii game’s strap-on guitar controller to
Kiss classic Rock ‘N’ Roll All Night.

But Foster, who plays the Guitar Hero at home with her two young boys, was taken aback when she realised the game’s difficulty level had been set to ‘hard’.
She told the audience, “You have it on hard. You’re not supposed to have it on hard already.”

Actress KATE BECKINSALE avoided her own daughter on the set of her latest film SNOW ANGELS - because the traumatic storyline made her so upset.
The British beauty plays a single mother who has an affair with a married man in the upcoming film, leading to the mysterious disapperance of her daughter.
But the Underworld star became so wrapped up in the role, she had to hide from her own daughter Lily - so the nine-year-old wouldn’t catch her in a distressed state.
She tells U.K. magazine Closer, “It was too intense. I didn’t want Lily to see me in that state - it exhausted me on a psychological level.”

Socialite NICOLE RICHIE has denied a report she plans to marry her boyfriend JOEL MADDEN this summer (08), insisting the rocker hasn’t even proposed.
Richie and Madden, who have baby daughter Harlow Winter Kate together, were said to be sending out invites for their impending nuptials as early as next week (begs07Apr08).
But a spokesperson for The Simple Life star says, “They are not even engaged.”

Avril Lavigne has criticised paparazzi photographers for the way they treat Britney Spears.

The US singer claimed that she had problems with the press herself but nothing compared to the experiences of Spears.

In an interview with Maxim magazine, Lavigne said: “No one else has it as hard as Britney. I feel bad for her.

“How does she even think with all those flashbulbs? When I’m being followed, everything’s thrown off,” she said.

“They run lights. They cause accidents. She can’t even walk to her car.”

British actor Ewan McGregor also recently expressed sympathy for the way Britney Spears was hounded by the press.

He claimed the behaviour of the paparazzi made him “feel sick”.

“I feel sad for her because I look at those pictures of ambulances outside her house and there are hundreds of paparazzi photographers. It makes me feel sick,” he told the Sunday Herald.

Actor MARTIN SHORT was once involved in a mid-air argument with LUCILLE BALL, after the legendary actress accused him of repeatedly kicking her seat. Short and his friend were amazed when Ball and her manager sat in front of them in first class on a flight between New York and Los Angeles in the mid-1980s. But Short, who starred on U.S. television show SCTV Network at the time, was shocked when Ball started to complain about his behaviour, resulting in his being asked to move to business class.

He says, “About 20 minutes into the flight she gets up - I’m sat behind her - and turns around and says, ‘Excuse me.’ And I’m thinking, ‘Oh my God, Lucille Ball’s recognised me.’ She goes, ‘You’ve kicked the back of my seat about three times. Will you stop doing that. Thanks.’ “So I don’t get it. Then about 15 minutes later she gets up and says, ‘Look. I asked you nice before and I’m going to ask you again - stop kicking the back of my seat.’ “I’ve done nothing. I didn’t know what was going on. About 15 minutes later after that, the stewardess comes up and says, ‘I’ve been asked by someone on the plane if you two (Short and his friend) would keep it down a little bit.’ “So I, trying to make my point, say, ‘I know where that’s coming from, it’s coming from the couple in front and they’ve been obnoxious since the start of this flight.’ “At which point Lucille gets up again and says, ‘Look, you kicked the back of my chair 15 times…’ And I was scared; this is not the Lucille I knew. “So I said, pointing at her, ‘You’re a sick lady,’ or something like that. She looked at me and went, ‘Barry!’ And the guy with her came up and said, ‘What are you pointing at little boy?’ And he grabbed at my finger. “The stewardess came up and suggested - it was a packed first class - that we move into business.” Ball died in 1989 aged 77.

Actress MINNIE DRIVER has fuelled rumours she is expecting her first child after she was photographed leaving a Los Angeles clinic. The Good Will Hunting star was spotted outside a doctor’s surgery looking at sonograms with a friend. According to New York gossip column Page Six, Driver called her boyfriend, Matthew, in England and talked about “getting bloodwork done”. A source tells the publication she told her pal, “Matthew says I should be quiet so no one hears me.” A spokesman for Driver has refused to comment.

Katie Holmes revealed her young daughter Suri is like an “encyclopaedia”.

The beautiful actress claims she is learning so much from her “magical” 20-month-old, her first child with husband Tom Cruise, that it is like absorbing an entire information book every day.

Katie said; “You learn more and more daily and then when you have a child, it feels like you’re reading an encyclopaedia a day.

You’re always behind because children grow so fast and they’re so magical. She’s so magical so things are good.”

Katie, who is currently promoting her new movie ‘Mad Money’, also claims Suri is already making her own warbrobe decisions.

She said; “She’s very strong and bright and picks out some of her own clothes.”

The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star, who became engaged to Tom back in June 2005 after dating him for a couple months, never thought of her relationship with the actor as being a “whirlwind” romance.

She said; “Well, I never thought that it was a whirlwind. It was a lot of attention all at once and I had never had that attention. But I always knew to expect that when I met Tom and it was like, ‘Okay, when? Sure. Yeah. Right on. Lets do it.’ So I’ve always felt very comfortable and happy with everything.”

Meanwhile, Katie admits that she and Tom love playing with their daughter’s toys.

The Hollywood couple took Suri on a shopping spree and ended up acting like the children themselves.

She said; “We were at FAO Schwarz last night. We were running around, eating ice cream and playing with all of the toys. And Tom and I were playing with a lot of the toys ourselves. It’s fun for adults. You get carried away.”

Jennifer Hudson loves her breasts.

The Oscar winner, who is famed for her fuller figure, is proud of her curves but especially her buxom boobs.

She said: “Curves are good. I have the height of a model, the breasts that people pay for and lips that everybody wants, so why should I change?”

Hudson, 26, had to gain around 20 pounds to play singer Effie White in ‘Dreamgirls’ - for which she won her Best Supporting Actress Academy Award.

However, the weight quickly began falling off the actress-and-singer after she started eating healthily and exercising.

Although Hudson tries her best to be health conscious, she still occasionally indulges in her favorite calorific treat - cookies.

She added: “I don’t want to be too thin, it’s OK not to work out once in a while if you want to maintain a certain weight. But I try to eat as best I can. I generally have a light breakfast, a salad at lunch and chicken and vegetables for dinner. But one thing I can’t resist is chocolate-chip cookies - they always win!”

Kate Hudson is getting set to launch her own range of hair products.

The beautiful actress has teamed up with hairstylist David Babaii to create Wildaid, which is a range of hair products and styling tools that will take care of coloured hair and raise money for global wildlife conservation organisation WildAid.

Kate revealed; “I’ve been asked to do a lot of campaigns in the past and this feels like the perfect fit for me. David is the best at what he does and he’s put so much of himself into the development of this line.

And the fact that we can do it in an ecologically responsible and animal-friendly manner that can help preserve wildlife is what makes this truly special.”

The Wildaid products are blended from natural ingredients and are free of sulphates, parabens and animal products and have not been tested on animals.

David admitted he is excited to have Kate on board saying; “She epitomises the modern woman, not only with her unique personal style, but her commitment to global concerns. She’s a dream client and the perfect partner in this project.”

Meanwhile, Kate confessed she is shocked that she is followed around by photographers everywhere she goes because she believes she lives a boring life.

Kate has an entourage of unwanted paparazzi whenever she leaves her home however insists they will never catch her doing anything wrong.

She said; “On an average week, let’s say I’d be followed about four out of seven days.

And I’m not even very scandalous. That’s the big joke with me and my friends. You’re not going to see me drunk stumbling. It’s not who I am”.

HAYLIE DUFF is desperately trying to reunite with writer/director ex-boyfriend CHARLIE MCDOWELL, less than two months after she ditched him.

The pair hooked up last summer (07), but Duff - big sister to Hilary - ditched the son of Mary Steenburgen and Malcolm MCDowell in November (07).
