viggo mortensen nude scene

Viggo Mortensen has confessed that filming the naked scene for his new movie ‘Eastern Promises’ was “slippery, painful and embarrassing.”

The handsome actor, who had to shoot a four-minute nude fight in a Turkish bath for the film, claims it would have ruined the movie if he had kept the towel on during the whole scene.

Viggo, who plays a Russian mob member in the movie, said; “That scene was slippery, painful and embarrassing. I always knew the scene should be as realistic as the rest of the movie, so I couldn’t feasibly keep the towel on.

Plus, we shouldn’t be trying to hide things or pretty it up in any way. I knew at times it would be awkward and vulnerable.

It was also painful because I couldn’t wear any pads to protect me. All I was wearing was a bunch of tattoos!”

Viggo also admitted he would be willing to jump on the chance to film another naked fight scene if it meant he could work with director David Cronenberg again.

He said; “One thing is for sure, I’ll definitely work with David again. And if he wants me to fight naked, so be it!”

Meanwhile, Viggo recently revealed he had been mistaken for a member of the mafia because he was sporting fake tattoos for the role in ‘Eastern Promises’ and would keep them on after shooting and go out to dinner in London.

The fake etchings would shock fellow diners who thought he belonged to a notorious gang.

Viggo told the New York Daily News newspaper; “I went into a Russian restaurant in London. People saw the tattoos and stopped talking.

They must have thought I was a real mafia man. It happened a couple of times. After a while, I figured I better wash off the ink before I went out to eat.”
