Kylie’s 20-year party
Kylie Minogue is to throw a massive party to celebrate her two decades as one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
The Spinning Around singer is spending a lavish £500,000 (approximately Rs 4 crore) on the bash, which will be held in London and attended by all the biggest names in showbiz.
“The date of the party is really significant to Kylie. When Loco-motion went to number one in Australia on August 3, 1987, it was the start of something special,” a pal told the Sun.
Kylie certainly has plenty to celebrate. The 39-year-old recently battled breast cancer and will launch a new album in December ahead of her 2008 world tour.
The source added, “In some ways, it’s a celebration of the fact she has resumed her place in the music world after her illness.
“It’s also a chance for her to thank all the people who assisted and encouraged her, . She wants it to be a big party, but still a very intimate event,” added the source.
Old boyfriends, Australian grandmothers, fellow pop stars and childhood friends are all set to be flown in for the occasion. The party is set to take place at a secret location.
